Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde to attend Shiv Jayanti Celebrations at Shivneri Fort
The auspicious occasion of Shiv Jayanti, commemorating the birth of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, will be marked with grandeur and reverence today at the historic Shivneri Fort, with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde set to attend the celebrations.
Preparations for this significant event have been meticulously executed at the governmental level, with Chief Minister Shinde scheduled to arrive at the fort at eight in the morning to partake in the birthday festivities.
Joining him in the traditional observance will be Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, alongside other dignitaries. As the day unfolds, the Shiv Janmasthan, Shiv Kunj, and Shivai Devi Temple have been adorned with captivating lighting arrangements, while the fort’s entrances are adorned with vibrant floral garlands.
Earlier in the day, a ceremonial Maha Puja of Shivai Devi was conducted in the presence of Commissioner Kulkulwar and Collector Dr Suhas Diwase, marking the spiritual essence of the occasion.
In a significant development, Chief Minister Shinde will inaugurate the Forest Department’s ‘Shivai Deorai’ and Forest Park within the precincts of Shivneri Fort, enhancing the natural beauty and heritage significance of the site.
To facilitate the influx of visitors, the parking facilities for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers at the fort’s base have been expanded this year. Furthermore, stringent security measures have been implemented, with ample police personnel deployed and drones deployed to ensure crowd control and safety throughout the festivities.
